Spicy Chicken Curry - Homemade Recipe



Chicken Curry recipe with step by step detailed video. This chicken curry recipe is easy to make and can be a good idea for lunch or dinner. The flavour of the spices gives this dish a unique and delicious taste.

Ingredients for 2-3 people :

Chicken (with bones) - 1/2
Onion - 1/2 cup, sliced
Tomato - 1 cup, chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp.
Chicken curry powder / Garam masala powder - 2 tbsp.
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
Salt - To taste
Dry red chillies - 2-3
Bay leaf - 1
Mustard Oil - 4-5 tbsp.
Coriander leaves - for garnishing

Method :

First, heat mustard oil in deep pan (kadhai) and add bay leaf for tempering. Add onions and fry till golden brown. Now, add chicken pieces and fry in medium flame for 3-5 minutes, cover it up and let it cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes stirring occasionally. Now, add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Cook on low flame for 5-6 minutes. Add chopped tomatoes and dry red chillies, cover it up and cook for another 8-10 minutes. Check if the consistency of the gravy is OK, otherwise add some water in it, cover and cook till desired. Garnish with green coriander leaves.

The curry is best served with Indian flat bread (Known as Roti) or with hot rice.
